To state the obvious, we’ve never seen anything quite likeDune: Awakening.
As a result, many players have high hopes forDune: Awakeningto break the uncharted path.
And hopefully, we’ll get an excellent, time-consuming survival game as a result.
because nothing consumes more time than MMOs and survival games.
Since the struggle to survive and grind levels, really never ends.
DayZ
DayZbegan as a mod forArma 2: Operation Arrowheadand has since evolved into its own full game.
Known asDayZ Standalone, or, as the community refers to as walking simulator.
One that is equally rewarding as it is deteriorating.
DayZ, a zombie survival game set in Chernaurus, is one of the most difficult in its genre.
Never mind the zombies; hunger, thirst, and the elements will most likely take you first.
Nonetheless,DayZis all about the grind of survival, base-building, and exploring the unknown.
All similar aspects we expect fromDune: Awakening, however in a much larger MMO setting.
In this MMO, Earths rotation has slowed, splitting the world into two deadly environments.
Only a small stretch between the freezing and burning sides of the planet is inhabitable.
And the last remaining survivors who claim it as home are selfishly scouring every corner for resources.
A wind-powered wooden machine designed for exploration, transportation, and intense combat.
TheLast Oasisis a refined taste, but it has a strong community that keeps the game alive.
Rust
Rustis a multiplayer open-world survival game set in a radioactive wasteland.
This survival game may not be an MMO, but it still shares many similarities withDune: Awakening.
With that,Rustwill surely prepare you for a similar enduring grind to survive.
The multiplayer survival open-world game is similar to the others on this list.
There’s crafting, base building, and clan fighting, but there’s one major difference.
This survival game has you living amidst primeval creatures that you may fight, tame, and combat.
And the host of in-game events and mysteries that keep it in a refreshed state.
The open-world survival and action MMORPG gives the impression of the younger sibling ofDune: Awakening.
And we say that because this title is also developed by Funcom, the same dev behindDune: Awakening.
However, it is not a sequel, but rather a new entry.
Then there are ancient ruins, loot-filled dungeons, and prospering kingdoms scattered over its vast open world.
This is merely scratching the surface of whatConan Exileshas to offer.
And evidently, it’s Funcom’s unofficial predecessor toDune: Awakening.
