What is Project Century?
Project Centuryis an upcoming real-time action game.
It seems to go back to theYakuzacombat roots, focusing on real-time action rather than turn-based.
We say it seems because theres very little information we know about the upcoming game.
Its totally unsurprising, asProject Centuryis in its pre-Alpha phase.
So, for now, well be speculating based on the trailer and past projects.
We dont know where exactly, and we might be dealing with an alternate history theme.
We can ascertain, though, that the story takes us back in time to the mid-19th century.
More precisely, 1915 Japan.
This new title will definitely be bloodier than any of the previous titles RGG has worked on.
The time period is the peak of Japans industrial revolution, which may tie into the plot.
Well also be controlling and most probably following the story of a new protagonist.
Gameplay
The gameplay is where we have the most information.
Most notably, well be going back to the classicYakuzagameplay style.
The newerLike a Dragongames have also been using real-time combat.
Further, youll use bare fists to fight enemies, as well as string together combos.
Youll also use blocks, parries, and dodges to avoid incoming attacks.
Meanwhile, youll be able to use your environment to your advantage.
We presume therell be an in-depth progression system and story elements that tie into your gameplay.

So, we have no clue when we might be getting our hands on it.
